We are pleased to confirm that a fourth edition of the Virtual SUPERteams Challenge will take place 1st-14th February 2021, with an updated format. Virtual SUPERteams 2021 will take place over a two-week period, with clubs able to offer two of the events making up the Challenge each week as either an at-home competition opportunity or a training session-based competition where athletes complete the four challenges together during club training nights (providing local lockdown restrictions allow). The club guide to Virtual SUPERteams 2021 offers advice on taking part using either of these approaches. The Challenge is open to athletes in the U11 and U13 age groups this time around, and will follow a similar format to previous Virtual SUPERteams Challenges with intra-club leaderboards for individuals feeding into national team results. The events making up the Virtual SUPERteams Challenge include running, jumping and throwing elements: a sprint and throw in week 1 and a jump and endurance run in week 2. Clubs can update their leaderboards at any time during each week, with all final results to be uploaded by 12 noon on Tuesday 9th February (week 1) and Tuesday 16th February (week 2) for inclusion in the national results leaderboard.
Clubs can register now to take part in Virtual SUPERteams 2021, and registration for clubs closes at midnight on Sunday 31st January. Click on the link below to sign up. There is no charge to clubs to take part in this virtual event, but all athletes registering scores on the national leaderboard must be up to date scottishathletics members on the final day of the challenge (14th February 2021) in order to represent their club in the final results.
