Registration is done through the scottishathletics online club portal
Clubs can register athletes up until midnight on Monday 13th April 2020
Entry is FREE OF CHARGE to scottishathletics Affiliated Clubs and clubs can enter as many teams and athletes as they wish, with the fastest 6 runners to score.
Athletes are asked to complete either a 5km Run or 10km Run. The fastest three runs over each distance will contribute to the team time in each of the men’s, women’s and non-binary categories.
Registered athletes’ details will be uploaded to the scoring platform
Performances should be submitted to scottishathletics by the athlete taking part.
Team Times are calculated using combined valid three 5km and three 10km runs by registered club members within the challenge timeframe.
All government guidelines in regard to Social Distancing must be strictly adhered to, any changes to these guidelines will be implemented immediately.
Clubs must enter eligible athletes via the scottishathletics Club portal. All eligible athletes must have a valid scottishathletics membership running until Day 4 of the challenge (Monday 13th April 2020)
This virtual event is open to U20, Senior and Masters athletes only.
Legs must be 5km OR 10km in length (reasonable GPS margin of error).
Legs must be run between 00:00 on Day 1 10th April and 23:59 on Day 4 13th April 2020.
1 attempt per person – choose your distance wisely!
Athletes MUST avoid popular running/walking routes or busy parks.
Be considerate to other people by keeping a minimum of 2m distance at all times when passing.
Runs MUST be completed solo.
Do not drive somewhere to run.
Individual runners should upload their Strava or Garmin performance by 12:00 on Day 5 Tuesday 14th April 2020, using the instructions on the entry page. Other running apps are not compatible with the scoring system. Runs should be named as ‘SA Virtual Road Relay Challenge’. Results will be based on “time elapsed” rather than “moving time”. Routes with significant negative elevation will not be counted.
All participants must be responsible for their own safety and as a minimum should adhere to the following suggestions –
· Plan your route in advance
· Let someone know when you expect to be back – contact them to check in when you return
· All participants should carry an ICE (In Case of Emergency) card with your name, address, any medical information and an emergency contact number.
Senior 6 Person Team (3 Short and 3 Long Legs) – Male, Female, Non Binary
Masters Aged 50 and Over 4 Person Team (2 Short and 2 Long Legs – Male, Female, Non Binary.
