Provisional We are pleased to confirm that the latest edition of SUPERteams will take place on Saturday 19th June 2021 at Aberdeen Sports Village. This popular event sees athletes from across Scotland in the Under 12 age group completing 4 athletics events - a run, a jump, a throw and a relay – to score points for their club in a bid to become the SUPERteams Champions. Athletes will compete in teams of 4 (4 girls or 4 boys), with points scored in each of the individual events contributing to the team total. Medals will be awarded to the top three teams in each gender, and the winning girls and boys teams will also take home a coveted SUPERteams trophy.

Entries:

All entries must be submitted online by clubs through the club portal. There will be no entries accepted on the day. Clubs are asked to identify a pool of eligible athletes at the point of entry, and will only confirm their final teams of 4 at declarations on the day of the event. This means clubs should register any athlete who they may wish to attend on their entry, as their final teams will be selected from this list.

All athletes entering must hold an up to date membership of scottishathletics valid for the competition date at the point of entry. If an athlete's membership has expired, or is set to expire before the date of the competition, they must renew their membership before the closing date in order to be eligible to enter.

Athletes must be at least 9 years old on the day of the event to participate in SUPERteams, and under 12 at the end of the current competition year. This means athletes must have been born between 01/09/09 and 19/06/2012.

Entries will close at midnight on Thursday 3rd June 2021.

No late entries will be accepted. If you experience any online entry problems, please email events@scottishathletics.org.uk before midnight on the closing date. Emails submitted after this time will not be accepted as an entry.

Due to venue capacity restrictions on the day, clubs can enter a maximum of 2 girls teams and 2 boys teams initially. If any club would like to enter more teams, please e-mail
events@scottishathletics.org.uk to be added to the waiting list. Additional spaces will be allocated as soon as possible after entries close, provided capacity has not been reached. This helps us to ensure that as many clubs as possible have the opportunity to be represented at the event. Priority for additional spaces will be given to the top-performing clubs in May’s Virtual SUPERteams Challenge.

If you need to withdraw after entering, please let the Events Team know by e-mail, as another club may be able to take your place.

Each participating team should also be accompanied by a team manager/volunteer throughout the event. This could be a club coach, team manager, parent helper or other volunteer. This person should be named at declarations on the day and will accompany their team around each of their events. They will be asked to assist officials with simple event duties at each station, but no prior knowledge of athletics is required as instructions will be provided. If possible, this person should hold a valid PVG scheme membership through their club but this is not essential.
